History

Believing in God’s Word and Spirit

The Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) is an independent Pentecostal Church with headquarters in Nigeria that was founded through divine direction for the purpose of winning souls for Christ in all parts of the world. The history of the church is traceable directly to the founding fathers like Oba/Pastor Isaac Akinyele, Pastor David Odubanjo, Joseph Sadare, Miss Sophia Odunlami, and Evangelist (Late Apostle) Joseph Babalola, who was called to the ministry by the Lord on 11th October 1928. Apostle Babalola’s call subsequently led to the great revival in 1930; a revival that brought tremendous spiritual awakening and changes in Nigeria. The Christ Apostolic Church, which is now over 70 years old as a Pentecostal church has assemblies all over Nigeria and in various nations like d’Ivore, Ghana, Germany, Great Britain, Sierra Leone, Canada, South Africa, Benin Republic, the United States of America, and many more.

The General Administration operates from the general secretariat of the Church based in Ibadan, Nigeria with the President of the Church as the Head and Chairmen of the General Executive Council, which is the policy making body of the Church. Departments and institutions under the general administration include Evangelism, Sunday school, Publicity, Youth, Theological Seminary, Faith Home and Printing Press. The Christ Apostolic Church Bethel Fellowship of USA and Canada is fully affiliated to the C.A.C in Nigeria as a special District. Through the foregoing levels of administration, departments, institution and fellowship, the evangelization and outreach programs of the Church are planned to reach and win more souls. Theological training programs are carried out to produce teachers and pastors with solid theological education. Sound teaching is prepared and taught to improve the spiritual growth of members and sustain their faith. Consequently, the Church has continued to grow and expand to the glory of God.

We are a spirit-filled multi-congregational home church, evangelical in doctrine, with authentic Christian community practices, equipped to maximize their potential in building strong families and impacting the world with the love of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, in Bethel Fellowship we seek daily to know more and more of Jesus Christ, to share more and more of God’s Love, to reach more and more people, to train more and more disciples, to release more and more laborers, to plant more and more churches, and to give more and more glory to God.

The mission of Christ Apostolic Church Bethel Fellowship is to glorify God and His son, Jesus Christ, through proclaiming the gospel and making disciples of all nations. To this end, depending completely on the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are committed to equipping ourselves and others to minister to the Lord, love one another, grow maturely, share Christ with the unsaved, and experience ongoing victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

Beliefs

Hearts bound by the love of Christ and the infallibility of scripture

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible by the Holy Spirit; in one God revealed in three coequal, distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; that man in his natural state is a sinner; that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came as a man and having lived a sinless life became the only sacrifice for the sins of the world and resurrected after 3 days; that the terms of salvation, which is entirely by grace are repentance towards God for sin and a personal faith in Jesus Christ; in the visible, bodily return of Christ to this earth to judge the world and to claim His bride; that the church is Christ’s spiritual body on earth consisting of born-again believers; in the doctrines of eternal punishment for the lost and eternal bliss and service for the saved; in the existence and defeat of an enemy called Satan by Christ’s victory at the cross; in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to all Christians to empower us to be witnesses.
